Viper with VALT
allows the surgeon to orient screws to best
treat each unique patient, lag bone fragments
for optimal fixation, and choose when to lock
the screw to the plate for additional security.
The locking technology is in the head of
the screw, not the plate. No more crossthreading
screws or complex drill guides, just one easy
to use system that allows the surgeon to focus
on the best treatment for each unique patient.
Why choose variable angle screws
instead of fixed angle?
It puts the surgeon in control. No more adjusting
the plate because a screw is in a fracture
site
or articulating surface. The surgeon can angle
screws to reach superior bone quality or secure
loose fragments while avoiding articulating
surfaces, leaving the plate in the optimal
position.
Why choose Viper with
VALT instead of other variable angle technologies?
The locking mechanism resides in the screw,
not the plate, so the surgeon can lag bone
fragments to achieve as much compression as
desired before choosing to lock the screw.
Competitive technologies lock as the screw
engages the plate, creating the feel of resistance
but limiting the ability to compress bone
fragments.
Viper with VALT makes
it easy to treat distal radius fractures.
No complex drill guides or instrumentation.
All that's needed is a driver and locking
key. This allows the surgeon to focus on how
to best treat each unique distal radius fracture.
The surgeon chooses when to lock by simply
rotating the locking key 1/2 turn clockwise.
An internal mechanism enlarges the screw head
to engage the Viper plate. To unlock,
rotate 1/2 turn counterclockwise.
When the VALT screw is unlocked, a surgeon
can lag the bone and plate to create a rigid
construct. When locked, the screw is protected
from backing out and provides additional stability.
This unique feature of Viper with VALT
allows the surgeon to do it ALL (Angle, Lag,
Lock).
