Instructions for Use
Indication for Use
For fixation of bone fractures
or for bone reconstruction. Examples include:
- Arthrodesis and fractures of ankle joint and
distal tibia
The Newdeal® TIBIAXYS™
Plates must be fixed with the Newdeal Surfix®
3.5mm diameter
fixation screws and lock- screws.
The Anterior plates for ankle arthrodesis must also
be fixed with the TIBIAXYS™ 4mm diameter
cortical screws.
Possible uses for arthrodesis
plates
The TIBIAXYS™ ankle fusion
plates are dedicated for arthrodesis of the ankle
(tibiotalar joint):
- Primary osteoarthritis
- Post-traumatic osteoarthritis
- Arthritis of the ankle
- After failed total ankle arthroplasty
- After failed total ankle fusion
Contraindications:
The implant should not be used
in a patient who has currently, or who has a history
of:
- Local or systematic acute or chronic inflammation
- Active infection or inflammation
- Suspected or documented metal allergy or intolerance
