Positioning the Pin

  • A 2.5 mm diameter graduated K-wire, 200 mm long (115225ND) is introduced into the site where the I.CO.S.® 6.5 mm screw diameter is to be implanted
  • The K-wire is positioned by means of drilling guides and soft tissue protector (119541ND, 119551ND and 119552ND)
  • Failure to use the drilling guide and protecting sleeve when inserting the K-wire may result in soft tissue entrapment
  • Care should be taken when the K-wire is inserted to respect neighboring blood vessels, nerves and tissues
  • The depth of inseretion of the K-wire depends upon the surgeons will to achieve a mono or bi-cortical osteosynthesis
